Custom Coffee Sleeve FAQ
Minimums, printing, paper, timing and pricing, in one place.
Minimums & ordering
Custom printing or stock sleeves?
Custom printing puts your logo and artwork on every sleeve and is made to order. Stock sleeves are ready to ship and sold by the case, starting at one case: Original has 1,300 sleeves per case and Eco II has 1,000. Stock ships the same day when ordered before 2 PM Pacific on a business day, plus transit.
What is the minimum order for custom coffee sleeves?
Original Small and Large custom orders start at 40 cases (52,000 sleeves). Original Medium minimums are quoted individually. Eco II custom orders start at 60 cases (60,000 sleeves). We also offer small-run custom print jobs; get in touch and we can talk about your options.
How does ordering custom sleeves work?
Send the quote request form with your specifications and upload your artwork. We send a proof for approval within 1-2 business days, and the first three proofs are free: the first proof plus two changes. Production starts after confirmation and signed proof, and the sleeves ship directly to your location or locations.
Can one order ship to several locations?
Yes. One custom order can be split across multiple locations, with freight quoted for each shipment.
Printing & artwork
Can you print full-color custom sleeves?
Yes. Flexographic printing supports up to 6 colors: CMYK uses 4 process screens for full-color artwork, plus up to 2 spot colors with Pantone matching. Price scales with the number of colors, and ink setup fees apply.
How much of the sleeve can be printed?
All of it. Designs can run full-bleed or use spot colors, and there is no limit on art coverage.
Is there an artwork template for custom sleeves?
Yes. Download the print template for your sleeve line and size from the FAQ, Tips & Templates page at javajacket.com/docs. The first three proofs are free: the first proof plus two changes.
What inks do you use?
Water-based inks that are FDA food-safe, matched to Pantone colors.
Paper & sizes
Which paper types can I choose?
Four, one per order. White Kraft Back has a bright white exterior for vivid color. Solid White is white on both sides for clean designs. Natural Kraft is unbleached brown fiber for a natural look. Glossy Newsback has a high-gloss finish for photographic or detailed artwork.
What cup sizes do custom coffee sleeves fit?
Original sleeves come in Small (8 oz), Medium (10 oz) and Large (12-24 oz). Eco II sleeves come in Small (8 oz) and Large (10-24 oz). Cup shape affects fit, so request samples to check your cups before ordering.
Timing & shipping
How long do custom cup sleeves take?
Proofs take 1-2 business days. Production takes 4-6 weeks after confirmation and signed proof, plus transit. Wholesale freight typically takes 1-2 weeks in transit, and smaller orders ship by your selected FedEx service. Carrier times vary by destination and season and are not guaranteed by Java Jacket.
Can a custom order be rushed?
Expedited production is possible by arrangement. Call 1-800-208-4128 to discuss your date; a rush is not guaranteed.
Pricing
How is custom printing priced?
Every job is quoted. Per-sleeve cost goes down as quantity goes up, price scales with the number of ink colors, and ink setup fees apply. Quotes are free and carry no obligation.
Why custom sleeves
Why put your brand on coffee sleeves?
Every sleeve travels with the drink. Custom-printed sleeves deliver an average of 53 minutes of brand exposure per serving.
Are custom printed sleeves recyclable and compostable?
Every Java Jacket sleeve is made from recycled material, is 100% compostable in a commercial composting facility, and is recyclable where paper and corrugated packaging is accepted. Select Original and Eco II sleeves are FSC-certified and BPI-certified compostable. Inks are water-based and FDA food-safe.
